Why We Started Layer Care

We grew up using the usual drugstore products for our hair, face, and body — the same ones most people use without ever really questioning them. We used them constantly, but they were never particularly effective. They rarely did what they claimed, and we barely noticed any real difference from using them.

At some point, we started paying closer attention. We began reading the backs of the bottles instead of just the front, and what we found didn't match the promises. Most of these everyday products were built on genuinely poor-quality ingredients.

As we looked further into the beauty industry as a whole, we noticed a strange pattern. Some brands used better ingredients, but their products simply didn't perform. Others performed reasonably well, but relied on ingredients we didn't feel good about using. It seemed like almost no one was doing both at once — genuine quality and real results, together.

That's what pushed us to create Layer Care. We wanted a better alternative for ourselves, and we wanted to help the people around us become more aware of what they were putting on their skin and hair every day, and give them a better option.

Every Layer Care product is made with natural, Ecocert certified ingredients. But certification is only half of it — every formula is also built to genuinely work, with active ingredients chosen for what they actually do, not just how they look on a label.

Layer Care exists to give people what we were looking for ourselves: products that are honest about what's in them, and effective at what they do.
